PHL to Open New Airport Operations Center

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is looking forward to opening its new Airport Operations Center (AOC) in early 2023 in the current Communications Center in Terminal C.

The process, which will begin at the end of February, will bring Airport Operations Tower Coordinators (OTCs), Job Control operators, and Systems Control (security) personnel into one facility, making the AOC the nerve center of the airport.

MarketPlace PHL and Philabundance End the Year Strong

Since March 2019, Marketplace PHL and OTG restaurants have collaborated with Philabundance as part of a community outreach initiative to assist Philadelphia International Airport's (PHL) neighbors-in-need and prevent food waste. Since then, an estimated 80,000 pounds of food have been rescued from some airport restaurants and “grab-and-go” locations and donated to Philabundance for meals for members of the community.

This distinction acknowledges employees who create a positive guest experience through service and delivery while collaborating with other organizations.   

Division of Aviation Hosts Small Order Purchasing Event to Attract New and Diverse Businesses

The Division of Aviation leads programs and initiatives as a continual effort to attract new and diverse vendors. On Friday, December 2, the airport’s Capital Development Group and Purchasing Administration Unit Professional Services teams collaborated to host an in-person vendor engagement session on upcoming small purchase order contracts. The scope of these contracts includes work such as civil engineering, Geographical Information System (GIS) and tree inventory services.

PHL Impression Makers: Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) Deputy Manager of Operations Benjamin Tribuiani

Benjamin Tribuiani, deputy manager of operations for the Philadelphia Parking Authority(PPA), recently received the “Impression Makers” award from Philadelphia International Airport’s (PHL) Employee Recognition Program. This award recognizes customer-facing employees who provide direct customer service to passengers.
