City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation Announces Stacey Lennon as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer

StaceyThe City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation, operator of Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE) has announced the promotion of Stacey Lennon to Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Lennon was most recently executive assistant for the airports’ CEO and CAO.

No Snow So Far This Winter – What Happens to PHL's Weather Resources?

The winter of 2022-23 has been very mild in Philadelphia-  as of publication, there have not been any winter storms with accumulated snow. There was no need to prepare the plow vehicles or to have the aircraft defrosted because of icy conditions. So, what does that mean for PHL, a northeastern airport accustomed to preparing for snow? How does a snowless winter affect the way the airport prepares for inclement weather? Does it redirect an overabundance of resources? What about the staff and dedicated equipment?

This award recognizes employees who provide exceptional care and services to seniors, families with young children, disabled passengers, and others with special needs.      

"All Things Philly", A Black History Month Roundtable Discussion

The Department of Aviation’s Racial Equity Advisory Council (REAC) closed out Black History Month with a roundtable discussion entitled “All Things Philly,” which included City of Philadelphia department leaders with expert knowledge on racial disparity and inequity and its effect in the workplace.

PHL Receives $30 Million from FAA Airport Terminal Program

The City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation has been awarded $30 million in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Fiscal Year 2023 Airport Terminal Program grants to support the continuation of Philadelphia International Airport’s (PHL) Restroom Renovation Program and Phase 1 of PHL’s Terminal Energy Optimization Program (TEOP).

Access for All at PHL

According to the office of the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, about 25.5 million Americans have a disability that may make it difficult for them to travel outside their homes. The Access for All program is a 65-page guide that gives people with disabilities a step-by-step view of navigating Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).
