Chefs from several PHL Food & Shops restaurants recently prepared and delivered approximately 80 pre-made meals for families staying at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House at 40th and Chestnut Streets. The event was part of the Ronald McDonald House’s Guest Chef program.
The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House supports families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope. One of the many services that the PRMH provides for the families is the Meal Program. The evening meal is a welcome relief for families as they return from a long and often exhausting day at the hospital.
In previous years, PHL restaurant volunteers prepared meals on-site for families staying at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, La Colombe Chickie’s and Pete’s, OTG and Jack Duggan’s participated in one-day meal drop-off, delivered a variety of food for the families, including pasta entrees, salads, sandwiches, wraps and desserts.
“We are very proud of our eateries for helping those in need, especially during these unprecedented times,” said Mel Hannah, Vice President and General Manager of Marketplace PHL. “It is an honor for us to participate in the Guest Chef program and be able to serve delicious meals to the families at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.”
