Welcome Capital Development Group Co-ops

This year, the Department of Aviation's Capital Development Group is excited to welcome five talented Drexel University co-op students. As part of the airports’ ongoing partnership with Drexel, these undergraduate and graduate students are gaining invaluable experience in the aviation industry, while bringing their distinctive educational backgrounds and energy to the Department of Aviation team. 

Read about the co-op students below to learn more about them, what they do, and their dream travel experiences.

Jason Walat - "If I could travel anywhere, I’d choose Orlando for its proximity to Disney World, Universal Studios, and Daytona Beach—fantastic vacation spots I’d love to visit again!" Jason enjoys go-karting, video gaming, occasional bike rides, and swimming. He is in his fourth year of a five-year Mechanical Engineering program at Drexel and set to graduate in June 2025. Currently, he is working with the On-Call Engineering team, training to become an inspector. 

John Bruzzese - "If I could hop on a plane right now, I’d head to Italy for the incredible food and rich culture. I am Italian, so it would be cool to go to my place of origin." Jason loves playing sports, video games, photography, and hanging out with friends. He is a second-year Mechanical Engineering student at Drexel and will be graduating in 2027 as part of the five-year program. He is currently working with the Tenant team and exploring his career path within his major.

 

Sebastian Kielar - "I love hanging out with friends and watching sports." Sebastian is fluent in English and Polish. He is a second-year Mechanical Engineering student at Drexel, with an expected graduation date of 2027. He is part of the Restroom Renovation team, where his job involves visiting sites and reporting on progress to keep everyone updated.
 


Marguerite Parker - "The most exhilarating thing I have done is drive a sports car on a racing track!" Marguerite is double majoring in Business and Engineering at Drexel. She is in her second year of a five-year program, and planning to graduate in June 2027. She works as a site engineer on demolition and renovation projects throughout the airport.


Sydney Eben - "One of my most memorable experiences was hiking a glacier in Alaska and escaping an avalanche on the way down!" Sydney is a fourth-year Environmental Science student at Drexel, graduating in 2025. Outside of work, Sydney enjoys rock climbing gym or spending time outside. She works with the Sustainability Team on projects involving electrification and environmental innovation.
