Capital Projects

Capital Improvement Program:

PHL has undergone more than $2 billion in capital improvements since 2000.

Major Construction Projects (Airfield):

Taxiway K Reconstruction: $82.4 million (phase 1 in construction, phase 2 construction start spring 2022).

Remain Overnight Parking (RON) Apron: $40 million (summer 2022 completion expected).

Philadelphia Northeast Airport Runway 6-24 Reconstruction: $37 million (all phases are substantially complete).

Maintenance Facility & Salt Dome: $20 million (Salt dome complete, Pavement & Grounds Building in construction).

DE Apron Reconstruction: $7 million (substantially complete).

Major Construction Projects (Terminal):

Restroom Renovation Program: Phase 3 substantially complete, Phase 4 in construction, Phases 5-9 in design.

Video Surveillance System Upgrades: phase 1 in construction, phase 2 in bid phase.

Mechanical Upgrades: Three projects in construction totaling $20 million. Upcoming HVAC roof top unit replacement bid spring 2022.

Roof Replacement: $13.3 million consisting of two projects substantially complete (Core AB-CD & E Terminal & Concourse). Next phase of roofing or BC Roof in design.

Curtain & Vestibule Upgrades: $13 million (A West complete, B/C and D/E in construction).
