Kyle Johnson, Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations

Kyle Johnson is the Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations for the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure at the Airport.

Mr. Johnson has nearly 30 years of experience in the Information Technology field. Before PHL, he served in various roles with the City of Philadelphia central IT organization, including Director of Revenue IT and Senior Director for Interdepartmental Collaboration where he oversaw the $20m modernization of the City’s revenue systems as well as various policy and outreach activities to build strong relationships between OIT and other City departments. Before joining the City, Mr. Johnson spent over 20 years in higher education IT, including 11 years as a CIO at various small colleges and universities across the country.

Mr. Johnson obtained his B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from Duke University and his master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University. He is an avid SCUBA diver with over 400 logged dives at sites around the world.
