Philadelphia International has released the following statement welcoming the Biden administration’s announcement that fully vaccinated, non-U.S. citizens will be permitted to travel to the U.S beginning in November. PHL CEO Chellie Cameron will discuss this news at the On the Fly Travel Update: PHL/LHR & The World event on Sep. 21.
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) applauds the White House’s decision to ease travel restrictions for vaccinated passengers to visit the United States. Restoring connectivity with important international markets is a significant win for many of Philadelphia’s key industries. PHL has been proactive in its efforts to encourage a safe return to air travel, and is proud of the advocacy work it has undertaken with partners like Heathrow Airport (LHR), American Airlines, British Airways, the British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia, and fellow American airports. From signing a Memorandum of Understanding with LHR to hosting public events with BABCPHL, the airport has worked hard to make the case for reopening travel, and is pleased to see this important step toward recovery. Following a brief suspension of operations, PHL looks forward to the return of British Airways flights beginning October 12.
