Philadelphia artist Sean Kinsey is a visual artist whose work is considered an urban art style of painting as it has similarities to a street art aesthetic, yet the work is intended for gallery viewing. Like many street artists, Kinsey is self-taught and says that his work is about “making people happy and spreading messages of love and positivity.” He typically uses symbols of smiles, hearts, and peace signs along with uplifting words and his self-identifying brand Vision 22 Art. 

The brand logo is visually depicted in outlines with slight variations. But it always features a face that has two eyes, the number 22 inside one eye, and a smiling mouth with 5 teeth. The number 22 is specific to his mother’s birthday and his personal motto is composed of 22 letters, “inspiration for creation.” 

Kinsey wrote about his painting Peace Will Rise Above, “Many people are tired of the hatred and racism that is tearing our country apart. I created this painting to spread positivity with the hope that viewers seek peace and love over hate.”
