OUTREACH

At Philadelphia Airport (PHL), community engagement is at the heart of what we do. We take immense pride in fostering strong connections not only within the airport but also with our neighboring communities as we offer airport tours for groups, provide opportunities for staff and our residents to give back and a calendar of fun events. Join us in celebrating the spirit of togetherness and discover how you can be a part of our meaningful initiatives. We encourage you to stay connected with PHL and our latest updates and offerings as we continue to adapt and provide enriching experiences for our community.

Runway

Bethesda Project Support

We conducted a successful food drive, delivering nearly 100 snack boxes and heartfelt personalized greeting cards to residents of the Bethesda Project. Our aim is to bring comfort and support to those in need.

Empowering Education

Through our donation of approximately 100 binders to Teachers' Teammates, we're contributing to the enhancement of education for teachers and students in Delco. These donations play a crucial role in fostering a positive learning environment.

Run the Runway 5K

PHL takes pride in sponsoring the Run the Runway 5K event, raising over $27,000 for valuable charities including the March of Dimes, Eastwick United, and Eastwick Friends & Neighbors Coalition. It's a testament to our commitment to making a difference.

Addressing Hunger

MarketPlace PHL and OTG management have joined hands in the fight against hunger. Through our collaboration with Philabundance, we've donated 67,694 pounds of surplus food to benefit organizations like the Eastwick United Methodist Church, supporting hunger relief efforts in our region.

Operation Fly Formula

In July 2022, as part of a federal initiative to combat the nationwide shortage of baby formula, PHL participated in “Operation Fly Formula.” This initiative involved a partnership between the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the General Service Administration to import infant formula from other nations. With PHL participating in transporting over 200,000 pounds of baby formula, it is estimated that the delivery was able to fill about 5.5 million 8-ounce bottles.

PHL Blood Drive

PHL partners with American Red Cross to host quarterly blood drives to collect blood donations from employees and passengers.  Donations support surrounding communities by helping to save lives across the Philadelphia region.

VOLUNTEERISM

Dr. Martin Luther King's Day of Service

Our dedicated DOA employees spent time volunteering at Bethesda Project. From cleaning common areas to providing snack boxes and interactive games, we're making a meaningful impact on the lives of the residents and staff.

Supporting Teachers' Teammates

Joining forces with Delco residents, our team volunteered at Teachers' Teammates to conduct inventory. By assisting this non-profit organization, we're directly contributing to the betterment of education in the Delco area.

Honoring our Veterans

PHL partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to give back to those who have given so much of themselves by serving our country. To celebrate Veterans Day, the PHL team traveled to the VA Hospital and provided donations for the VA’s canteen to help support veterans and their families.
