The City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation is currently seeking applicants for a number of facilities positions at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Current openings include HVAC mechanic, industrial electrician, semi-skilled laborer, machinery and equipment mechanic and custodian.
“PHL is an exciting place to work. We have millions of people passing through our terminals every year, either to visit our city and region or to connect for flights across the country and around the world,” said Tamara Whitfield, Department of Aviation Human Resources Manager. “The positions that we are hiring for are critical to the day-to-day operations of the airport and make sure our facilities are ready to keep our guests comfortable.”
Interested candidates can apply now through October 15 via the City of Philadelphia Office of Human Resources website, phila.gov/jobs. Civil service examinations for qualified candidates will be administered by the City.
“Being a City employee has great benefits, including full medical, dental and vision coverage, a pension plan, paid time off and the option to enroll in the free SEPTA Key Advantage program,” said Whitfield. “And, at PHL there is opportunity for promotions and salary increases, as early as six months after being hired. The benefits, opportunity for growth and all of the activity at the airport—especially the anticipated passenger growth for major events in our region in the next few years, make the airport a unique and attractive workplace.”
Airport representatives will be on hand at two upcoming job fairs to answer questions and offer assistance for those wishing to apply in person. Look for the Department of Aviation at:
