It’s never too early to plan next year’s summer vacation. Just announced destinations on American Airlines’ Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) summer 2024 roster will make passengers want to pack their bags now.
American is adding three nonstop international routes to Nice, France (NCE); Naples, Italy (NAP); and Copenhagen, Denmark (CPH) from PHL in summer 2024. This is the first time PHL passengers will be able to fly nonstop from Philadelphia to those European destinations.
“American has expressed its commitment to Philadelphia as its transatlantic hub and the addition of these new routes for summer 2024 is proof of that commitment,” said PHL CEO Atif Saeed. “As the only American hub serving Copenhagen, Nice and Naples, PHL looks forward to welcoming both an increased number of international guests, as well as domestic passengers making connections to those amazing cities.”
Flights to and from Nice and PHL will operate daily from May 6-October 5. The Naples-PHL route will operate daily from June 5-October 25. Service between Copenhagen and Philadelphia will operate daily from June 6-October 5.
“As we approach the end of the peak summer travel season, we are beginning to shift our focus on what’s ahead for PHL in 2024 and beyond,” said Lakshman Amaranayaka, Vice President of PHL Hub Operations. “With these three new destinations, American will offer service to 14 European destinations nonstop from Philadelphia next year, marking our largest transatlantic schedule from PHL since 2019.”
In addition to the new international service, American also announced that it will resume daily service between PHL and San Antonio (SAT) from June 5 until September 3. This is the first time American has flown nonstop between PHL and SAT since 2020.
The addition of American’s service to Copenhagen, Nice and Naples will bring PHL’s total nonstop service to 29 international year-round and seasonal destinations. San Antonio will be American’s 89th domestic destination from PHL.
