Philadelphia artist Allen Bentley is known for his paintings and drawings of dancers. He is interested in capturing the dynamics between two partners embraced in motion. Bentley uses the imagery of dance as a visual metaphor expressive of relationships between two people. It is either a rehearsed or an improvised communication of movement. Sometimes the communication is subtle like a
gesture, a touch, or a glance. Sometimes it is bold, dramatic, and full of swirling energy. Those shared moments and emotions within the dance are the spirit of Bentley's work.
