Philadelphia International Airport | Northeast Philadelphia Airport

As Chief Strategy Officer, Cassie Schmid manages enterprise-wide strategic planning and performance management for the Department of Aviation. As part of this role, Cassie oversees the Communications, Guest Experience and Marketing & Brand units. She is charged with creating clear and focused strategies to meet and exceed the expectations of passengers and valuable stakeholders both internally and externally. This is especially important as the airports prepare for the influx of visitors anticipated for the major events taking place in Philadelphia in 2026.

Cassie is an accomplished leader with an innovative spirit and customer focused approach. She is an expert at applying data-driven approaches that incorporate market trends, the competitive landscape and customer insights to create comprehensive strategies and processes that exceed expectations and deliver breakthrough results.

She comes to the Department of Aviation after serving in a leadership role within the Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement division at the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) which owns and operates Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and six reliever airports in the Twin Cities area. During her time there, she was responsible for leading strategic marketing and communications functions with a focus on stewarding a consistent brand voice, engaging key stakeholders, and supporting non-aeronautical revenue growth and passenger engagement. Before that, Cassie held leadership roles within several organizations successfully spearheading innovative go-to-market strategies and partnerships.
