Jacqueline Lewis, Deputy Director of External for the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation

Jacqueline Lewis is Deputy Director of External for the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation, where she manages the communications, government affairs and community engagement teams for the Philadelphia International Airport and the Northeast Philadelphia Airport. She is responsible for driving strategic engagement and outreach efforts to local, state, and federal government officials, community leaders, and key stakeholders. This includes oversight of the external affairs strategy development and implementation, helping to advance policy goals, increase awareness of the airport, improve the guests’ experience and provide innovative ideas to build for the future. The Deputy Director of External Affairs reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and is a member of the airports’ senior management.
Ms. Lewis is an attorney and strategist with 25 years of experience in legal analysis, problem-solving, relationship-building and administration. Prior to joining the City of Philadelphia, Ms. Lewis led the LEADERSHIP Philadelphia Keepers program. Previously she served as surety counsel at Zurich and Reliance Insurance companies, troubleshooting complex construction and performance bond disputes with a team of lawyers, engineers and accountants.
She is a volunteer with the Medical Reserve Corp and serves on the boards of CraftNOW and the Philadelphia Police Foundation Night for Blue. Past service includes St. Peter’s Episcopal Church (Accounting Warden); The Pearlman Association (Seattle, WA); The Powel House Committee; the Wagner Free Institute of Science; and the American Bar Association (Vice-Chair, Fidelity & Surety Law Committee.) Ms. Lewis has written and spoken extensively on legal topics and personal resilience. She is the author of Life Begins at the End of Your Comfort Zone and co-founded the World Gratitude Map.
Ms. Lewis earned her JD from the University of Connecticut School of Law and has served as a member of the US Army Reserves.
