On May 18, the Division of Aviation celebrated Asian-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month with a special “East Meets Sweets” event, hosted by the airport's Capital Development team. Participants brought their favorite AAPI desserts to share with colleagues. If they didn’t have one, they were encouraged to reach out to a friend, neighbor, or colleague for a recipe. Attendees enjoyed desserts from India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the United States (Hawaii), Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. 

The event grew out of the Deputy Director of Aviation Api Appulingam’s desire to continue fostering a collaborative and communal workplace and was organized by Capital Development's Roxanne Gliwa.
